Looking back on the history of Kappadu Abbey, we can proudly say that we have always upheld ththe Benedictine motto of “ora et labora” in our life. We follow the Syro-Malabar liturgy, which we celebrate in the best way possible.

In the field of ''labora'' too, Kappadu and all its daughter houses have stamped in the agricultural activities all the time. We witness to the call of Benedict to ''labora'' as much of the agricultural work is done by the community members, employing people only when necessary. Agriculture makes it necessary to maintain small dairy farms in all the houses to have sufficient farm manure. Along with the dairy farm, the brothers also maintain small rabbit and poltry farms. Our agriculture and dairy farming are always a source of inspiration to our neighbours. Study classes for local farmers have been conducted at the monastery by the agricultural department of the Government.
